Hardware Investment

The partial support for the development of the Computer Cluster was provided by Microsoft Sponsored Research. This cluster has:

132 Opteron 64 CPU

10 GB Infiniband Internal Network

1 TB Storage

The Cluster operates with Windows Server 2008, HPC Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008.

In addition to providing services for in-house Bioinformatics and Genome Biology projects, the cluster serves as a student teaching resource and will soon be used in a project involving outreach to high school students. The cluster also is used for collaborative research with Microsoft Research, Redmond and national and international networking and e-science..
