About CBGB

Center for Bioinformatics and Genome Biology.

We are a Center within the Fundación Ciencia para la Vida dedicated to research and teaching activities in bioinformatics and genome biology. We operate a 134 cpu computer cluster contributed by Microsoft Research as part of a sponsored research program. The Center maintains strong connections with Centre for Bioinformatics UC (CBUC) and Centro de Bioinformatica y Simulacion Molecular (CBSM) and is a member of the Ibero-Latin American Bioinformatics Network.

• The Director of CGBG Dr.David Holmes gave an invited presentation “High Performance Computing and eScience at the Fundación Ciencia para la Vida” at the “2º Taller de Articulación para la Vinculación de Ciencia y Empresa: Hacia una Infraestructura de Grid Nacional”. Santiago, Chile. [11-22/01/2010]

• The Director of CGBG Dr.David Holmes and Jorge Valdés gave invited talks: “Anotación de Genomas Microbianos”, “Desde la Secuencia a la Función” y “Predicción Bioinformática de la Regulación Genética” at the “Curso Internacional de Postgrado: Avances en Genómica Funcional”. The course was attended by 40 students from 8 Latin American countries and Spain. Valparaiso-Quintay, Chile.[11-22/01/2010]
